In a market overflowing with budget smartphones, standing out isn’t easy. But the Vivo T4x 5G seems to have cracked the code—at least on paper. Packing the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, a long-lasting 6500mAh battery, and rare IP64 water/dust protection, the Vivo T4x 5G aims to offer high-end performance at an affordable sub-₹15,000 price.

But does it live up to the hype?

I’ve been using the Vivo T4x 5G for a few days now, and here’s my honest, in-depth review based on real-world usage. Whether you’re a casual user, gamer, or someone who just wants a reliable phone that won’t break the bank, read on—this review will help you decide if this is the right pick for you.

    Unboxing & First Impressions

Inside the box, you’ll find the essentials: the handset itself, a USB-C charging cable, 44W charger, SIM tool, and user manuals—nothing out of the ordinary. One thing to note: there’s no pre-applied screen protector or case included, which I would’ve appreciated given the lack of display protection (more on that later).

When I first held the phone, it instantly felt lightweight yet solid. The glittery Marine Blue back has a shimmering finish that looks premium for this price point. The Dynamic Light Ring on the back adds a fun touch—lighting up for calls, notifications, and charging status.

    🔍 Design & Build Quality (Vivo T4x 5G)

If you like phones that catch the eye, the Vivo T4x 5G won’t disappoint. It comes in Marine Blue and Pronto Purple, both offering a subtle shimmer that feels fresh and unique in this segment.

“Even with its large battery, the device manages to maintain a slim and lightweight feel in hand. The ergonomic design ensures it feels comfortable in the hand, even during extended usage. Plus, the IP64 rating is a major win it’s rare to see dust and water resistance in this price bracket.

However, there’s a downside: no Gorilla Glass or any toughened display protection. You’ll definitely want to grab a good quality screen guard or case early on.

📺 Display – Smooth and Bright, But Not AMOLED (Vivo T4x 5G Display Review)

The 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate is one of the highlights. Scrolling through apps and navigating the UI feels super smooth. Brightness levels peak around 900 nits, which makes it quite readable even in direct sunlight.

Colours are punchy and vibrant, but here’s the catch—being an IPS panel, it lacks the deep blacks and high contrast that AMOLED panels offer. It’s good, but not exceptional in that department.

Still, for this price, the 120Hz experience and sharp visuals make it a more-than-decent screen for everyday use, videos, and casual gaming.

Performance – Class-Leading Speed in Budget Segment (Vivo T4x 5G Performance)

This is where the Vivo T4x 5G really shines.

Powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and speedy UFS 3.1 storage, the Vivo T4x 5G delivers a fluid experience for day-to-day tasks. I tested it with multitasking, casual browsing, Instagram, YouTube, and even some gaming. Not once did it stutter.

Gaming performance is solid. I also tried out games like BGMI and Asphalt 9 both ran seamlessly on medium to high settings without noticeable lag or frame drops.. No heating issues even after 40+ minutes of gameplay—a huge plus.

    Here are some benchmark numbers:

    • AnTuTu: 655,612
    • Geekbench 6: 1033 (single-core), 2875 (multi-core)

These scores even beat some phones that are priced ₹2,000–₹3,000 higher.

However, the software experience with FuntouchOS 15 (built on Android 15) is a bit inconsistent offering power but cluttered with pre-installed apps.

🧩Software Experience – Powerful but Cluttered (Vivo T4x 5G UI Review)

While the phone runs the latest Android 15, FuntouchOS 15 feels a bit too heavy for my taste. It comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps, and I even spotted a few ads in system menus.

You can uninstall most of the bloatware, but even after doing so, the UI lacks that clean, minimal polish that brands like Motorola or Nothing offer.

If you’re someone who prefers a stock Android experience, this might disappoint. But if performance and features are your priority, you can definitely work around it.

📸 Camera – Surprisingly Capable in Day and Night (Vivo T4x 5G Camera Review)

Camera-wise, it includes a 50MP main lens, a 2MP depth sensor on the rear, and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.. On paper, it looks decent—and in real life, it does a pretty good job.

Daylight photos are sharp, detailed, and vibrant—sometimes a bit oversaturated, but that’s common in this range. Portrait shots are decent but sometimes struggle with accurate edge separation.

What surprised me was its low-light performance. It managed to retain enough detail and reduce noise better than I expected from a phone at this price.

Selfies are quite good too—bright and skin tones are handled well, especially in outdoor lighting.

The only downside? No ultrawide lens, which is slowly becoming common even in this segment. It would’ve added more versatility to the camera setup.

Battery Life – A True Marathon Runner (Vivo T4x 5G Battery Performance)

This phone packs a massive 6500mAh battery, and it lives up to the numbers.

On moderate usage—calls, YouTube, Instagram, Google Maps, and a bit of gaming it easily lasted me up to 2 days. After a full day of intense use, I still had around 25–30% battery remaining quite impressive for this category.

Charging is also pretty quick thanks to the 44W fast charger included in the box. It took around 1 hour and 38 minutes to go from 0 to 100%.

    Battery efficiency is excellent:

    • 15 minutes of gaming + 30 minutes YouTube = only 4% drop
    • 1 hour of Google Maps = 3% battery drop

If you’re frequently on the go, this device proves to be a dependable battery powerhouse.

    ✅ Vivo T4x 5G – Pros and Cons at a Glance

    Pros

    • Excellent performance for the price
    • 120Hz smooth and bright display
    • Solid battery life with fast charging
    • Decent daylight and low-light camera
    • IP64 rating for added durability
    • Premium-looking design

    Cons

    • No AMOLED panel
    • No ultrawide lens in camera
    • Cluttered and ad-heavy UI
    • Lacks Gorilla Glass or screen protection

📝 Final Verdict: Should You Buy the Vivo T4x 5G?

After using the Vivo T4x 5G, I can confidently say—it’s one of the best budget 5G phones under ₹15,000 right now.

If your top priorities are performance, battery life, and decent camera quality, this phone ticks all the boxes. It’s ideal for students, casual gamers, and power users looking for value.

However, if you’re someone who hates bloatware, wants an AMOLED screen, or needs a clean software experience, you may want to consider alternatives like Motorola or CMF Phone 1.

That being said, for ₹12,999–₹13,999, the Vivo T4x 5G offers unmatched hardware, smooth performance, and a battery that just won’t quit.

In my view, this phone is a performance-first workhorse that delivers more than expected at this price—making it a strong and smart buy in the sub-15K segment.

🔎 Who Should Buy the Vivo T4x 5G?

    • Gamers looking for budget-friendly performance
    • Power users who need strong battery life
    • Students and first-time smartphone buyers
    • Users who value durability and style

    ❌ Who Should Skip It?

    • AMOLED lovers who want punchy visuals
    • Users who prefer bloat-free or stock Android
    • Content creators needing a versatile camera setup (especially ultrawide)

Got questions about the Vivo T4x 5G? Thinking of comparing it to another model before buying? Let me know—I’m happy to help you decide!
