The realme P3 5G enters the budget smartphone market with a bold promise: a triple IP rating , a 6000mAh battery , and India’s first Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset under ₹18,000. After testing it for 15 days, here’s whether it lives up to the hype.

Priced at ₹16,999 (6GB RAM) to ₹19,999 (8GB RAM + 256GB storage) , the realme P3 5G competes with the Redmi Note 14 5G and iQOO Z10x , offering unique perks like dust/water resistance and a massive battery. But does it deliver a balanced experience? Let’s break it down with Realme P3 review.

Realme P3 Review: Design & Build

The realme P3 5G’s design is a mix of practicality and style. Available in Space Silver, Nebula Pink, and Comet Grey , our review unit in Nebula Pink stood out with its playful aesthetic—ideal for users who love vibrant colors. The matte finish resists fingerprints well, though it’s not immune to smudges in sweaty hands.

    Key highlights:

    • IP66 + IP68 + IP69 certification : Dustproof, waterproof, and even resistant to high-pressure water jets—a rarity in this segment.
    • Plastic body : Lightweight (190g) but lacks the premium feel of glass or metal.
    • Flat frame : Modern look but adds bulk (8mm thickness).

While the plastic build may feel budget, the triple IP rating and curved display make it a durable, comfortable pick for everyday use.

    Realme P3 Review: Display Performance

The 6.67-inch AMOLED display is a highlight, offering:

    • 2000 nits peak brightness (adequate for indoor use).
    • 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations.
    • DCI-P3 color gamut and 6,000,000:1 contrast ratio for vivid visuals.

In practice, streaming shows like Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum was a delight—sharp details and rich blacks made for an immersive experience. However, outdoor visibility lagged. Under direct sunlight, the screen washed out, making it less ideal for users who spend time outdoors.

Stereo speakers add value, but audio quality deteriorates at max volume. For multimedia fans, the display shines indoors, but the lack of HDR-enhanced brightness holds it back.

    Realme P3 Review: Software

Running Realme UI 6 atop Android 15 , the software experience is vibrant and functional but cluttered:

    • Bloatware : 69 pre-installed apps, many of which can be uninstalled. Features like Realme Glance (news feed) and Hot Games (ads) require manual disabling.
    • AI Features : Circle to Search and AI Smart Loop offer convenience but feel gimmicky.
    • Update Promise : 2 Android updates and 3 years of security patches —standard for budget phones.

While the UI is smooth and gesture navigation works well, the bloatware and average customization options make it less polished than Nothing OS 2.6 on the CMF Phone 1 .

    Realme P3 Performance Review:

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset (6nm) paired with 8GB RAM handles daily tasks effortlessly:

    • Multitasking : Switching between WhatsApp, Chrome, and Instagram is seamless.
    • Gaming : BGMI runs smoothly at Smooth+Extreme graphics (75+ FPS), but after 30 minutes, the phone gets uncomfortably warm. Asphalt 9 struggles with HD settings and high frame rates.

Benchmark scores place it ahead of the Redmi Note 14 5G but behind the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite . For light gaming and daily use, it’s reliable—but not a powerhouse.

    Realme P3 Camera Review

    The dual-camera setup includes:

    • 50MP primary sensor (f/1.8).
    • 2MP depth sensor (non-functional for zoom).
    • 16MP front camera .

    Daylight Photography :

    • Vibrant colors, accurate exposure, and 10x digital zoom usability up to 5x.
    • Livephoto mode captures 3–4 seconds of motion, adding dynamic flair.

    Low-Light Performance :

    • Noise and oversharpening without Night Mode. Activating Night Mode improves brightness but struggles with artificial lighting (e.g., streetlights cause halos).

    Portrait Mode :

    • Excellent edge detection in well-lit scenes but lacks a 2x zoom option.

    Selfie Camera :

    • Natural skin tones in daylight but over-darkens subjects in low light.

Missing the Mark : No ultrawide lens—a feature rivals like the Redmi Note 14 5G include.

    Battery & Charging

The 6000mAh battery is the P3 5G’s crown jewel. In mixed use (social media, calls, 2 hours of video), it lasts 1.5–2 days . Heavy users get a full day with 10–15% battery left.

    45W Fast Charging :

    • 0–50% in 35 minutes .
    • Full charge in 1 hour , with the included charger.

This combination makes the P3 5G one of the most power-efficient phones under ₹20,000.

    Verdict

    Buy It If:

    • You prioritize durability (IP66+IP68+IP69 rating).
    • You want all-day battery life and fast charging .
    • You value a vibrant AMOLED screen for indoor media consumption.

    Skip It If:

    • You need top-tier low-light photography or ultrawide lens .
    • You dislike bloatware or warm gaming performance .

At ₹17,000 , the realme P3 5G is a solid choice for users who value battery life , durability , and display quality . While its camera and software fall short of perfection, it’s a well-rounded device for the price.

    Pros & Cons of Realme P3 5G

    Final Rating: ⭐ 4/5

The realme P3 5G isn’t perfect, but its triple IP rating , massive battery , and AMOLED screen make it one of the most durable, long-lasting budget phones of 2025.
